Suunto Vector Update 6 Months
Well the old Suunto Vector watch that I Purchased on Ebay last September is still doing well. I have worn it frequently in my travels. To include a trip to Europe, see previous blog entry for details. It is an amazingly accurate device, I must say, in all aspects. The exact barometric pressure may be off sometimes, but the watch NEVER missed a change in the pressure. It is quite capable of predicting changes in the weather due to this.
The only complaint I have is the band. The band that came with the watch was an ugly plastic thing that really looked bad. I immediately swapped the band for the Suunto elastic strap, which really improved the overall appearance of the watch. However I am not too happy with the strap, it is already beginning to show significant signs of wear. The elastic is no longer stretchy, and the flaps that hold the pins and watch in place are beginning to tear.
My alternative is to go with a Velcro/Leather strap available here.

I intend to get the all black one and see how that holds up. If I have to get a new band every six months it won't be a big deal.
I will keep you posted.
SPORTO out.
