Is it me?

Is it me? I was just looking at my BlogSpot profile and I clicked on one of my favorite groups these days "Chevelle" and all the other bloggers are like sixteen year old chicks....uh....yeah. You would have thought I clicked on Britney Spears or something. Can you say "No Talent?"
Chevelle is a newer group to emerge lately that really jams. Not like a lot of that crap (Hip-Hop and other Pop) that the record industry forces on our youth these days. Have you ever tried to watch good old MTV these days? WTF happened?
I am not against any form of music, as long as it is created with talent and expression, but ranting on about how much money and women you have is really somewhat of a bore, if not hubris.
One other point to make on that...
Here in Pittsburgh there are three popular "Classic Rock" stations, which may seem odd for a town this size, but the deal is that older music is still popular because a lot of the newer stuff is just so lame. The really sad part is that "Classic Rock" covers groups like Duran Duran...oh how times change.

Band of Brothers and other items

Just finished watching the last episode of Band of Brothers on DVD.  I like the part where Capt Sobel walks past Maj Winters and intentionally looks the other way.  Winters makes him salute by saying:
"Salute the rank, not the man" and then looks at his buddy Capt Nixon played by Ron "Office Space" Livingston.
What a classic moment.  I could not imagine how humiliating that must be for Sobel.  I doubt he was as bad as they all say in the movie, but who knows.  I also wonder why none of his family chimed in and defended him when the book came out.  Was he invited to any Easy Company reunions?  WTF is that?  Poor guy...all he wanted to do was fight just like the rest of them.  I do believe he was probably a tactical moron, but I can only guess the hatred must be rather strong to transcend 60 years, a book and a mini-series.
Guess you had to be there.

Anyone see that commercial where the guy was getting fired by his boss, and he was eating cereal while his boss was talking?  What a hysterical commercial that is.  I cannot remember what cereal it was, but the commercial was funny.

WOW do the Phillies really suck right now or what?  They lost to Florida again and now Atlanta won, it puts them 2.5 games out now.  WTF?  I cannot stand to watch this team slowly self destruct at this point in the season.  Breaks my heart, as they were the picks of the division.  Oh well, season is not over yet. They really need to make a trade.

Kurt Busch sucks...'nuff said.

My First Blog

Well this is my first blog.  I am not sure what I want to say, but here goes. A little about me. I am a former Marine Officer, Computer Programmer, NASCAR fan, Phillies fan, and I own an old Bronco.  Soooo I have a lot to blog about.
If I post an opinion that you don't agree with then let me know.  However I will not be inclined to respond to name calling or flaming.  I tend to just evaluate the situation and only until I have thoroughly thought about it will I divulge an opinion.
So I know this is boring, but it seems like fun.
Thanks for reading.
